  Hi Everyone,

It appears that we are going to get that Indian Summer weather that I was not looking forward to, temps up around 100 this week...stick a fork in me, I'm done with this heat, how about you? Well as we head into October we will start the holiday car show season, my personal favorite time, and I'll give you a "save-the-date' event; on Sat Oct 30th is the annual Pumpkin Patch Car Show at Heritage Park in La Verne, this is a really fun family event. The car show portion is only part of the fun, there is also live music, a petting zoo, face painting, and of course a pumpkin patch, just in time for that Halloween Jack-O-Lantern. Now let's see what's going on this weekend. On Sat Oct 2nd and Sun Oct 3rd is the Marching Thru History Expo at Prado Regional Park on Euclid in Chino from 10am - 3pm, the show will feature live music from DJ Dusty. On Sat Oct 2nd the 6th Annual Glass & Chrome Corvette Car Show from 12 noon - 5pm at the Dos Lagos shopping center in Corona. On Sat Oct 2nd the Moreno Christian Assembly presents it's 10th Annual Car Show from 4pm - 8pm at 13830 Nason St in Moreno Valley, the show will include live music and food,a safety fair and a kids zone with a jumper. On Sun Oct 3rd will be the 41st Annual All Ford Picnic & Car Show at La Palma Park in Anaheim from 8am - 3pm and will include live music by Goody Good DJ Service, great food and a raffle. On Sun Oct 3rd Richard Hibbard Chevrolet on Indian Hill in Claremont will hold it's 28th Annual All Chevy Car Show from 8am - 2pm and will feature "Oldies but Goodies" music, food & drinks and a raffle. On Sun Oct 3rd is the big 20th Annual Verterans Memorial Car Show at Jerry Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda from 8am - 3:30pm. This is a very large show, I've been to this one a few times and really enjoy it, the show includes a pancake breakfast as well as other food selections, lots of vendor booths, KOLA 99.9 FM will be there live to provide all the music, there is also a scavenger hunt, coloring contest and model car contest for the kids. They will also be giving away a 1965 Chevelle Convertible at the event, I would definitely suggest you making it out to this show. On Sun Oct 3rd will be the 4th Annual Fun on Sunday Vintage Car Show at Los Altos United Methodist Church, 5950 E Willow St, Long Beach, 9:30am - 2pm and is open to Pre-1975 or older vehicles. On Sun Oct 3rd the 31st Annual San Diego British Car Day will be at Ingram Plaza at Liberty Station, 2580 Historic Decatur Rd. This years featured car is the Austin Healey which is celebrating 50 years. There are plenty of restaurants around the event as well as a picnic area, and they will be awarding a prize for the best picnic brought, there will also be lots of vendors with items ranging from crafts to car parts. So there's a lot to choose from so I hope you can find a show that interests you, and if there is something going on that you'd like me to list please ,ail me with all the info. Also I'd like to remind you all that the NHRA Museum will resume their cruise nights once the fair has ended, there first one back will be on Wed Oct 6th. I'd also like to spend a moment and talk about the Village Grille Cruise night in Claremont. I did talk about it in last weeks newsletter and there was a story about it in the Wed edition of the Daily Bulletin, but for anyone who is not aware, this is a yearly event which is held on the first Sat of the month throughout the Spring into Fall and has been going on for the past 20 years now, their next cruise night will be on Sat Oct 9th, and it appears as though this may be the last. The events creator and organizer Sandy at the Village Grille has decided that the stress of holding the show is just become too much, so I'd like to put out all call to all of you to come out to this event and make her last cruise night the best one of all. Again it is held at the Village Grille in downtown Claremont on Sat Oct 9th from 5pm - 8pm.
