Hi Everyone,
So here we go, the first day of Summer was on Tuesday and the 4th of July is only a week away, I guess that means Summer's in full swing. The weather is tolerable, with June Gloom not so thick but the massive heat that we all know so well has stayed away (so far). And as we get ready to say good-bye to June and look ahead to July, let's see what events I can find for you.
We start July off with the 91 Classic Car Show & Swap Meet at Canyon RV Park in Anaheim on July 2nd, the car show is open to all Pre-1979 American-Made Classic Vehicles.
Every Fri night in July ( 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22. 7/29) come out to Rubys' Diner in Whittier for Cruz'n The Boulevard from 5pm -8:30pm.
If you're looking for something to do on Mon July 4th you can head out to the City of Brea's 32nd Annual County Fair from 10am - 4pm at the Brea City Hall Park. The event will include a Car Show from 9am - 3pm, and also feature a pancake breakfast, food & game booths, crafts, and rides & entertainment.
On Wed July 6th don't miss the NHRA Twilight Cruise at the NHRA Museum in Pomona from 4pm - 8pm.
Over the weekend of Fri July 8th - Sun July 10th is the Inaugural JE Pistons NMRA / NMCA West Coast Shootout at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, car show price is $20 (1 day) and $35 (Sat & Sun), show starts at 9am and is open to all years, all Domestic makes of cars & trucks. Admission prices includes: full spectator access to heads up drag racing, vendor midway, swap meet and Autocross.
On Fri July 8th CalRods Car Club holds their National Collector Car Appreciation Day Show at American Classic Cars, 2542 N Towne Ave in Pomona from 4pm - 8pm.
On Sat July 9th is the 6th Annual Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo & Car Show from 3pm - 9pm. The event will feature an appearance by Shirley Muldowney, the First Lady of drag racing, and her World Championship Dragster, 14 Nostalgic Dragsters from the Lions Drag Strip days, BMX Demonstartions, vendors, live music, and more.This event will raise funds for the Long Beach Special Olympics.
On Sun July 10th is the 15th Annual Support Your Car Club Council Show & Shine at K1 Speed, 5350 E Ontario Mills Pkwy from 4pm - 8pm, all Classics & Customs are welcome.
On Sat July 30th the Norco Bob's Big Boy is holding their Summer Rod Run & Pin Up Girl Contest from 5pm - 8pm. They are still looking for Pin Up girl contestants, so put your hair in pin curls, grab your red lipstick and contact Charyle at trollady10@aol.com or retrorick99@yahoo.com.
On Sun July 31st is the big San Dimas Sheriff's Booster Club Annual Car Show, the 18th Annual Shine It! Show It! Cruise It!, in Downtown San Dimas along Bonita Ave, cruise time is 8:30am, and show time is 9am.
So there is a few things to get mark your calendars for, and as always, if you have an event coming up and would like me to include it in my newsletter please email me with all of your events info and I'll get it out there.
